Tim Lincecum shrugged off his pirouette at the plate, ignored the derisive whistles he heard in the batter’s box and did his thing on the mound â where he’s most comfortable.
Tim Lincecum outdueled Roy Halladay in one of the most highly anticipated pitching match-ups in years as the San Francisco Giants beat the Philadelphia Phillies 4-3 in the opening game of the National League Championship Series on Saturday.

Giants beat Phils 4-3 in Game 1 of the NLCS.
There is still a long way to go, and being a lifelong fan I know they still have many creative ways to rip my beating heart out of my chest ("Giants Baseball: Torture").
But for tonight, at least… sweet victory.

One of the seemingly endless streams of strikeouts – 14 by the night’s end – to give the Giants the first win of the NLDS… capping the second-best game I’ve ever seen at AT&T Park (second only to Sanchez’s no-no on July 10, 2009)
